About the position:

As laboratory engineer at Blue Ocean Closures, you will play an important role in producing reliable, consistent and accurate data in various R&D projects. Your main tasks will include development, planning, execution and reporting of various tests in our lab. As fiber based closures are new to the market and established characterisation methods and standards do not yet exist, a significant part of your role will also involve the development of new methods. We are a small unit where it is obvious for all of us to be prepared to help each other in all tasks that occur. We work in an international environment with English as the main language. The position is located in Karlstad and you report to the Head of Material Development.

In your role as a laboratory engineer, your tasks will involve:

– Planning, execution and documentation of laboratory work

– Cooperation with both internal and external parties to verify test results

– Development of new test methods and procedures adapted to the different projects

– Perform data analysis and presentation of results from tests

– Create and improve documents, including test methods, test plans and reports

– Preparation of work instructions and templates

– Responsibility for maintenance and operation of laboratory instruments

The position as laboratory engineer is a permanent full-time position at Blue Ocean Closures starting as agreed.

About you:

We are looking for candidates who have a university or college education in technology, preferably with a specialization in materials, chemistry or mechanics. Most likely, you have professional experience as a laboratory engineer or similar. If you have experience in paper, cardboard or polymers, this is a plus. As we work in an international environment and have English as the main language, it is important that you are comfortable with the English language, both speaking and writing. Your good knowledge of MS Office will also come to use.
