Fiber-based closures offer better opportunities for Design for Recycling than traditional closures made of plastics or metals. This Award decisively underscores the future of sustainable packaging, affirming that fiber is the definitive path toward full recyclability.

Blue Ocean Closures caps are certified recyclable as paper, using cellulose fibers that will strengthen paper or carton materials when recycled, up to 25 times. In many countries around the world, the system for paper and carton board recycling is the most widely used recycling stream, reaching above 80% in Europe. Every single fiber-based cap that goes into recycling is in other words a big win!
